About
Geotechnical scientist and academic leader, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnics of the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU) — Russia’s leading civil-engineering university. In a career of more than nineteen years at the university he progressed from lecturer to Vice-Rector for research and scientific-technical activity (2022–2025), headed the Scientific and Educational Center “Geotechnics” for over a decade and directed the Institute of Construction and Architecture; he currently serves as Scientific Supervisor of the Research Institute of Geotechnics named after Z.G. Ter-Martirosyan.

His research concerns the mechanics of soils under static, cyclic and vibrational loading, the rheological (creep) behaviour of clay soils, soil–structure interaction of piles and deep foundations, and settlement prediction for tunnelling — including machine-learning-based methods — with applications in high-rise, underground, transport and nuclear-power construction. He is a member of the Presidium of the Russian Society for Soil Mechanics, Geotechnics and Foundation Engineering (RSSMGFE), a member of ISSMGE and ASCE, and sits on the editorial boards and councils of six Russian engineering journals.

Author of about 200 research publications, monographs and textbooks, including Soil Mechanics in High-Rise Construction with a Developed Underground Part (945 pp.), and co-author of five patents for inventions, including the pile-drain ground-improvement technology developed for Kursk NPP-2 power units and subsequently applied in civil construction. He has led scientific-technical support of high-rise, unique and nuclear-power facilities; for the Moscow Metro, an AI-based algorithm for predicting ground-surface settlements caused by tunnelling was developed and validated under his supervision.

At IAE — Fellow; the record and member status are verifiable through the Association’s public registry via QR code.
