About
Karina Builenko's career in insurance finance began in August 2008, in the insurance practice of Ernst & Young's audit and advisory department, where she worked with companies from the top ten of the Russian market. Eighteen years later, her track record includes financial leadership of a Top-20 insurance group and two consulting projects.
Most of that path unfolded within a single group of companies. In April 2010 she joined Uralsib Insurance Group as a chief specialist in the international reporting unit, headed that unit by 2012, became Deputy CFO in 2018, and in 2022 — Chief Financial Officer of the group, later renamed INLIFE. She led a finance department of about 50 people serving two legal entities — in life insurance and in non-life lines.
Her responsibilities fall into two streams. The first is day-to-day financial management: strategic planning, financial modeling, budgeting, accounting, management accounting and reporting, asset and solvency management, product portfolio oversight, and control of actuarial calculations. The second is change projects: transitions to new standards, process automation, and system implementation.
Since November 2024 she has worked as an independent expert — currently on two projects, with PSB Insurance LLC and PJSC IC Rosgosstrakh. She graduated with honors from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in Finance and Credit with a specialization in Insurance, and holds the ACCA DipIFR diploma in international financial reporting. At IAE she is a Senior Member (SM) in the Financial Management in Insurance field.
