About the Service
An Independent Professional Voice in the Applicant’s Case
An expert opinion letter is an independent written opinion by a subject-matter expert confirming the significance of an applicant’s achievements, the alignment of a position with a visa category’s requirements, or the national importance of the proposed endeavor. For a USCIS officer, it provides an impartial professional perspective that translates the applicant’s record into the language of the category’s specific criteria.

IAE opinions are prepared by experts listed in the Association’s public registry — professors, doctorate holders, internationally certified professionals, and industry executives who have completed peer credentialing by the Council. Each letter follows the legal standard of the relevant category: for EB-2 NIW, the three prongs of Matter of Dhanasar; for EB-1 and O-1, the regulatory extraordinary-ability criteria; and for H-1B, the specialty occupation requirements.

The opinion includes the expert’s CV, while the expert’s status, credentials, and Member ID are publicly available at iaexperts.com/check, allowing an officer or attorney to verify the author in seconds. With many providers, the expert remains anonymous until an order is placed; at IAE, author verification is part of the service.
Visa Categories
Which Petitions Do We Prepare Opinions For?

Expert assessment of achievements under the regulatory criteria: significance of contributions, originality, recognition in the field, and comparison with the field’s standards.

An opinion on extraordinary ability in science, business, technology, or the arts, grounded in measurable results and industry recognition.
H-1B

Substantiation that the position, by its nature, requires at least a bachelor’s degree in a specific specialty, including analysis of job duties.

Why IAE
Expertise You Can Verify
Verifiable Author
A format where the expert’s credentials can be verified in a public registry by QR code rather than simply taken on trust.
Credentialed Experts
Each author has completed peer credentialing by the IAE Council under the published Criteria Matrix.
Scholarly Infrastructure
The Association is supported by the peer-reviewed IAE Review journal (Crossref Member, DOI Prefix 10.68034) and publicly available editorial policies.
Yes. This is a standard part of the process: the draft opinion is sent to the applicant and attorney, and one round of factual corrections is included in the fee. The expert’s conclusions remain independent.
Can the Draft Be Reviewed With My Attorney?
A subject-matter expert from the public IAE Registry, selected for the petition’s field: a professor, doctorate holder, or industry executive. We confirm the proposed expert and CV with you before work begins.
Who Will Author the Letter?
No. An expert opinion is evidence that USCIS evaluates together with the rest of the record. A strong letter can improve the quality of the evidentiary package, but the agency always makes the final decision, and a responsible provider does not promise otherwise.
Does the Letter Guarantee Petition Approval?

Other Services
IAE services constitute independent expert opinion and are not legal services or legal advice. IAE is not a law firm; consult a licensed immigration attorney regarding case strategy.

An expert opinion is evidence evaluated by USCIS; neither IAE nor the expert guarantees petition approval or influences the agency’s decision.

The expert acts independently, has no interest in the outcome of the case, and confirms this in the opinion. Materials are handled confidentially.
